TOMRA Selects Field Service Management Solution from Nexterna
January 23, 2003 - Nexterna, Inc announces that TOMRA East, Inc., a division of TOMRA North America, a leading provider of automated recycling systems for collecting used beverage containers, has entered an agreement to deploy the Nexterna Clearview field service management solution The system will enable TOMRA to provide immediate response to requests for service by providing GPS-based event management and wireless mobile communications that will allow field technicians to work together in real-time with the central office.
"This system will help our field technicians respond to our customers more effectively, maximize the number of completed service calls, and allow us to efficiently manage our service assets," said Rich DeRosa, VP of Service Technology.
The Nexterna Clearview system will help TOMRA complete service orders more efficiently by integrating the real-time location, skill-set and availability of each technician, with parts and inventory data The system will use this information to determine the most appropriate resources required to complete a request for service An electronic service order containing complete account and equipment information will be sent wirelessly to the assigned technician Upon completion of the service call, the closed work order will be sent wirelessly back to the office and a new work order will then be sent to the technician for their next service call.
The Nexterna Clearview system selected by TOMRA includes back-office and mobile software, customer web access, wireless data connectivity, and GPS location technology For optimized scheduling, TOMRA selected ClickSoftware (Nasdaq: CKSWE), which will integrate with the Nexterna Clearview application For wireless data communications, TOMRA will utilize the Verizon and Wireless Matrix networks.
